Recently, we examined the most popular books checked out by students using Booksource Classroom, our free, online tool that helps teachers across the country manage their classroom libraries. The Dog Man series books took the top spots, first through fifth places, in grades K-2 and landed in spots four through seven in grades 3-5.

2. CatStronauts series

When the world is thrust into darkness due to a global energy shortage, the World’s Best Scientist creates a bold plan to set up a solar power plant on the moon. Someone needs to go up there to set it up, and that adventure falls to the CatStronauts. A super fun graphic novel series with strong themes of friendship and cooperation.
3. Super Potato series

Super Max has it all. He’s a superhero with a flashy uniform and a great head of hair. Dr. Malevolent’s evil plan works, and he turns the handsome hero into a tiny tuber! Super Max may be gone, but it’s Super Potato’s time to fly!
4. Bunny vs. Monkey series

It’s just pure fun. A monkey sent into space by a group of scientists, lands on the other side of the forest and thinks he is conquering a new world. Monkey is obnoxious and a bully and tries to banish other animals from his ‘new world,’ including Bunny and his friends Pig and Weenie.
5. Nico Bravo and the Hound of Hades

Myths and legends from all over the world get their supplies from the magic shop where Nico works. Fans of Dog Man will love this humorous, graphic novel adventure series!
6. Apocalypse Taco
by Nathan Hale
This humorous adventure/dystopian graphic novel is great for older fans of Dog Man. When a group of theater kids return from a fast food run, they find copies of themselves on stage. As the adventure gets more and more out of hand, they become less sure of who is real and who is the copy.
